COVID-19

To Our Entire Family of Patients

In Regards to COVID-19

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time. We will limit the number of patients allowed to sit in the reception area.
  • We have added additional protection, such as face shields, and when available- N-95 masks to protect our team and you.
  • Our front desk personnel will be wearing masks when you see them.
  • We will be doing no touch temperature checks on anyone coming in for treatment.
  • We have installed medical grade air purifiers which are the most effective air filtrations available

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (718) 550-3541 or contact us here.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,

Drs. Gochman, Dr. Bharati, and our entire team.

Experience from start to finish was great. When I arrived, the front desk staff was just as pleasant in person as they were over the phone. Dr. Bharati was very thorough and detailed about my treatment plan, and just friendly overall, which I enjoyed.

Common Patient Questions

  • Q. How safe is teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening treatments have been around for hundreds of years, and advancements in techniques and technology have provided us with bleaching gel that is 100 percent safe. The professional-grade bleaching gel that we use is highly effective at getting rid of discoloration and stains. We provide Zoom! WhiteningⓇ as an in-office treatment, and can also outfit you with a kit to take home.
  • Q. It’s been years since I’ve been to the dentist & I’m embarrassed about letting a professional see my mouth. How will I be tre
We’d like to congratulate you on being proactive about your oral health. It’s never too late to start taking better care of your teeth. When you visit our office, we’ll make sure you feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe. Your dental care team will examine your oral health and discuss treatment options and a plan of action suitable to your needs, schedule, insurance, and budget.
  • Q. Do you stay current on the latest dental techniques, innovations, and materials?
In order for our team to continue practicing, New York State has certain requirements for continuing education every year. However, we make sure to do much more than the bare minimum at NY Smile Creators. We subscribe to all of the relevant journals in the industry and hold memberships in professional dental associations geared toward furthering our education. We also do our best to attend as many conferences, lectures, and meetings held by such associations to absorb as much new information as we can.
  • Q. How do you ensure patient safety?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have put forth strict guidelines for us to adhere to as a dental care provider. Some of these guidelines include the following:

    • Using an autoclave to sterilize all reusable instruments, and sealing these instruments individually before using them again
    • Disinfecting patient care areas between every patient visit
    • Choosing disposable products whenever possible
    • Wearing disposable gloves during examinations and procedures
  • Q. How Much Do Treatments Cost?
There is no set price you can expect to pay because the amount is determined by your individual treatment plan. We take the time to discuss the costs associated with the procedure and your payment options, like third-party financing with CareCredit, LendingClub, and Wells Fargo.
